Why I Built Wyatt Labs: The Vision Behind the Business
I've been building things with software for over a decade. In that time, I've worked across industries, worn a lot of different hats, and watched a pattern repeat itself over and over again.
A business has real potential. The product is good. The founder is sharp. But they can't scale because they can't build the operational capacity fast enough to keep up with the opportunity in front of them.
They need a sales team. They need an engineering function. They need someone running content and marketing. They need a support operation that doesn't break when volume spikes.
And the options on the table are: hire slowly and expensively, or just try to do it all yourself until you burn out.
I kept watching good businesses plateau. Not because of the product, not because of the market, but because they couldn't build the team fast enough to move.
That's what Wyatt Labs is built to solve.
The Problem I Kept Seeing
Most businesses don't have an idea problem. They have a capacity problem.
Hiring is slow. The average time-to-hire for a skilled operator is 60–90 days, and that's before the 3–6 month ramp-up to full productivity. For a business that needs to move now, that timeline is brutal.
Even when hiring works, the overhead multiplies. Every new team member needs management, onboarding, tooling, and time. The person running the business, usually the founder, ends up spending more time managing the team than doing the work the team was hired to free them from.
There had to be a better way to stand up operational capacity. So I built one.
What Wyatt Labs Actually Does
We build custom operational divisions for businesses.
I consult with you directly. We map your workflows, understand your goals, and identify where you're leaving the most on the table. Then we design and deploy a division that handles that function, whether it's sales, engineering, content, support, strategy, or operations, built around how your business actually works.
The key word is custom. This isn't software you plug in. It's not a template. It's an operational function engineered for your specific business, your specific voice, your specific processes.
And it's operational in weeks, not months.
The Mission
Wyatt Labs exists to give growing businesses access to operational capacity that was previously only available to companies with the resources to build large teams.
The businesses that benefit most are the ones between 10 and 200 employees. Past the scrappy startup stage but not yet at enterprise scale. Big enough to need real operational depth. Not yet big enough to build it easily.
That's the sweet spot. That's where we work.
The Vision
I want Wyatt Labs to be the consultancy that operators and founders call when they need to move fast and build right. Not a vendor. Not a tool. A trusted partner who understands the business, designs the solution, and stands behind the result.
The longer-term vision is a network of clients who are genuinely operating at a level they couldn't reach before, because they have the capacity to execute on the opportunities in front of them.
Our Values
Honesty first. If we can't help you, we'll tell you. If you should hire instead of engaging us, we'll say that. We'd rather lose a client than overpromise.
Outcomes over activity. We don't measure success by the number of things running. We measure it by the results you're seeing in the business.
Precision over scale. We take on a limited number of engagements at a time because custom work requires actual attention. We don't run a factory.
Continuous improvement. A division we deploy today should be better in 30 days than it was on launch day. We don't build and walk away.
Why Now
The tools available to build operational capacity at speed have evolved dramatically in recent years. What used to require a 10-person team can now be architected and deployed by someone who knows what they're doing.
I've spent years developing that knowledge. Wyatt Labs is how I put it to work for the businesses that need it most.
